Encourage children to be a team player

Team sports can be a good way for a child to develop respect for team mates, social interaction skills and patience. They’ll get regular exercise and improve their fitness and overall health while having lots of fun with their friends.

They learn skills such as commitment to training, being on time and that winning or losing is all part of being a good team member. Great role models like coaches and managers can provide structure and routine that can be valuable in their daily life.

Team sports can also create a bond between parents who watch from the sidelines and who not only encourage their own child but also the other children on the team. Playing a sport as part of a team, children can overcome shyness and boost their self esteem and create great friendships that can last a lifetime.
